From the first ball to the final over, there’s one taste that’s always been in the stands.

In good times when friends rise flags and a cold one, we’re right there. This isn’t just a sponsorship it’s a strong partnership.

It’s a feeling shared across streets, shebeens, living rooms and stadiums.

Castle Lager has walked the journey with the Proteas through the highs, the heartbreaks, and the moments when they made history. Rallying the Squad to back our own.

One country. One team.

One beer that brings us together.

Rally your Squad, crack open a Castle, and let’s show the Proteas what home support looks like.

THE T20 CHEAT SHEET

Do you ever find yourself watching cricket with the squad  & the only thing you know is National Pride?
No Mixed Signals here, we got you!

out

In T20 cricket, a batter is “out” when their turn to score ends after a legal dismissal.

This can happen if:

  • the ball hits the stumps,
  • fielder catches the ball before it bounces,
  • the batter is trapped, leg-before-wicket
  • or they are run out.

Each team has ten outs total. When ten batters are out, the innings finishes and the teams switch roles. Being out means that player can no longer bat or score runs.

No Ball

A No ball is an illegal delivery that penalizes the fielding team with one penalty run, adds to the score as an extra, and requires an additional ball to be bowled in that over. The batter cannot be dismissed off a No ball except by run out, obstructing the field, or hitting the ball twice. It is signaled by raising one arm horizontally.

Common Reasons for a No Ball:

  • Foot Faults
  • Throwing
  • Dangerous/Unfair Delivery
  • Height
  • Bowling Method

The umpire rotates one arm in a circular motion above the head to signal a Free Hit in cricket.

This signal tells players and spectators that the next delivery has special rules attached. On a Free Hit, the batter cannot be dismissed by most conventional methods, such as being bowled, caught, or leg before wicket.

A Free Hit is only awarded after certain no-balls, usually foot faults, and signals a fair chance for attacking play.
